On Friday 5th December 2025, the MARE 6G SNS project was presented by its technical Coordinator Professor Xavi Masip at the “Architecting Trust in 6G: Technical Insights from SNS-JU Projects” webinar. The event brought together several ongoing SNS projects to discuss emerging security and trust challenges in the path toward 6G.

Workshop 5: Is there anything new on Security for 6G Networks?

In this workshop, Professor Xavi Masip presented an overview of the MARE project’s vision for a programmable, modular and disaggregated Security Plane for future 6G ecosystems. He presented innovative approaches to 6G security provisioning through open Security Functions, DOTs, intelligent orchestration and a Network Digital Twin-based pre-assessment environment that enables proactive and reactive cyber defence, impact analysis and secure service deployment.

Workshop 12: Advancing Network Digital Twins (NDTs) for AI-driven 6G systems

In this workshop, Professor Xavi Masip introduced the MARE project’s innovative use of a Network Digital Twin (NDT)-based pre-assessment sandbox for 6G security. His presentation explored how proactive “WHAT-IF” analysis and the NOWIT principle enable the evaluation of cyber incidents, mitigation strategies and security functions before deployment, helping ensure that remediation actions improve network resilience without causing unintended consequences.
